Bryan Municipal Utilities (BMU) Utility disconnections for Bryan utility customers who don’t pay their bills have been suspended since March 16, 2020. BMU temporarily suspended utility disconnections for non-payment and waived late penalties in response to COVID-19 to lessen the burden on those affected by the pandemic.

BMU will resume disconnects for unpaid utilities on overdue utility accounts and payments will need to be made prior to the due date to avoid disruption in electric service. For help paying your utility bills, several community and state organizations offer utility assistance including the Bryan Good Neighbors Fund (419-636-4924), HEAP (1-800- 282-0880) and Northwest Ohio Community Action Coalition (1-844-493-1193), United Way of Williams County has a Community Information and Referral Hotline ( 800-468-HELP(4357)).

BMU urges customers to pay what they can on their bills to help keep their balances lower and
to seek assistance if they are experiencing financial hardship. BMU will work with customers to assist with payment arrangements and customers have continued to receive notice of amounts that need payment throughout the disconnect moratorium.
