Network Engineer

The City of Bryan is currently accepting applications for a Network Engineer.  This position is responsible for assisting with installing, configuring, maintaining and providing support for all desktop computers, related hardware, peripheral equipment and software; ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with Microsoft file servers, email servers, application servers and administrative systems, work closely with Microsoft server support vendor to assure integration; work with other vendor support to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software; identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems; evaluate, install, and maintain remote administration software for all desktop computers.  Ensures all records of software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, etc.; maintain LAN/WAN documentation and diagrams. Network Engineer Position Description

A bachelor’s degree in Network Administration, Computer Science is preferred with five to seven years of experience in Cisco network hardware, TCP/IP, internet service provider support and network design and experience in troubleshooting Ethernet and TCP/IP networks using tools such as network analyzers; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform essential functions of position.

Engineering Supervisor

Bryan Municipal Utilities is currently accepting applications for an Engineering Supervisor. This position is responsible for accurately planning and implementing procedures needed to oversee the operation of the engineering department; plan utility construction and maintenance projects with departmental superintendents, contractors, city engineering, etc., schedule and coordinate the work of his/her employees with other utility and city departments, contractors, businesses, and residents.  A complete job description can be found at www.cityofbryan.net

Successful candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited college, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Preferred candidate to have 7 to 10 years of experience with supervisory responsibilities and knowledge of electric and water utility construction best practices.

Lineworker IV

Bryan Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for a LINE WORKER. This position is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.

Candidate must have valid driver’s license, preferably a CDL; ability to climb poles and work from 70 feet; and have a practical knowledge of electric systems. Preferred candidate will have completed an apprenticeship program.
