IT Technician/Help Desk Support

The City of Bryan and Bryan Municipal Utilities is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Technician/Help Desk to join our team. This position is responsible for providing technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology.  Troubleshoot, identify, research and resolve technical problem. Perform a variety of maintenance, software and hardware installation, and training tasks to ensure end-user workstation and network performance meet requirements.   A complete job description can be found here:

Position prefers associate’s degree in technical field; five to seven years of experience in the field or in a related technical area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform essential functions of the position.

Engineering Assistant

Bryan Municipal Utilities is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our team. As an Assistant Engineer, you will work closely with the engineering team to support various projects and ensure their successful completion. This position is also responsible for preparation of technical reports, plans, specifications, and engineering services during construction for new and existing electric, water, and fiber infrastructure.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering.  

Preferred graduate from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering or CAD; experience in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office and CAD software; or an inequivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform essential function of the position.

Lineworker IV

Bryan Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for a LINE WORKER. This position is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.

Candidate must have valid driver’s license, preferably a CDL; ability to climb poles and work from 70 feet; and have a practical knowledge of electric systems. Preferred candidate will have completed an apprenticeship program.
