Board of Public Affairs

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs is a five-person board elected to oversee the operations of the
community-owned utility. The Board keeps itself informed on a regular basis of utility services,
financial position, and personnel. The Board has four committees that meet once a month. At these
meetings, management discusses all significant utility activities with the Board.
The full Board meets the first and third Tuesday of each month in open session at 7 p.m. at the Utility office,
841 East Edgerton St. The public is always welcome. The meetings are also broadcast live on BMU TV.

Mary Burns
|
Mary Burns is a longtime resident of Bryan.
She is the owner of Burns Awards, which has been in
business for more than 60 years. Mary is a member of the Alliance Church in Bryan.
Mary was a member of the Toledo Blade Queens traveling bowling team for more than eight
years and was a glove designer for the U.S. Navy. Mary resides on North Lynn Street in Bryan.

Chris Conti graduated from Bryan
High School and received a B.A. from Ohio University. Chris is employed by Community
Hospitals and Wellness Centers in the department of materials management. Chris and his
wife Nancy reside at 1119 Westfield Ave. in Bryan. They have two children: Jayna Brosmer
of Davenport, Iowa and Kathryn, a student at Kent State University.

Bill Pepple
|
Bill Pepple (William S. Pepple, Jr.) was born in Garrett, Indiana. He is a graduate of Hicksville
High School and the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts. Bill has been a resident of
Bryan for 36 years. He and his wife Kim have three grown children - Kristy, Zach and Jake. Bill
was a business owner for more than 30 years and is currently self-employed with Inner Circle
Development. He is a member of New Hope Community Church, Bryan Rotary Club, Bryan Area Foundation,
and a Trustee of the Williams County Public Library. In 1996, Bill Pepple was chosen as Bryan's Good
Citizen of the Year and in 2006, he served as Chairman of the United Way Campaign.

Angelike Schreder moved to Bryan in 1963 from Toledo after
completing two years of business college majoring in accounting. She and her husband, Dick
(deceased), owned and managed the Airmate Company, Inc., where she worked for 48 years. She
served on the Bryan City School Board for twelve years. She is an active member of First Presbyterian
Church where she is a member of the Session and the Chancel Choir. Angie has two daughters, Carol
Schreder of Bryan and Karen Barbera of Tucson Arizona. She resides at 1721 Colonial Lane in Bryan.

Bill Yahraus
|
Bill Yahraus is a lifelong resident of Bryan. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He and his wife Judith
have three sons, Bradley, Jeff and Dan, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bill is a member of
the American Legion and First Presbyterian Church, and he is active with the Bryan Jubliee committee. Bill works
part-time at Mobile Homes Estates.
